Adding closed captioning

Last updated: 29 June 2018

You can add closed captioning to a scene of your story. These will show on screen during video playback and you can choose if they display in presentation mode.

Step 1. Tap on the closed captioning button.

Select closed captioning (A) from the left toolbar. You can then select  'Tap notes to your scene...' (B).

Step 2. Select your scene.

Make sure the scene you want to add notes to is selected on the timeline (C), you can select another one if you need to. Then tap in the text box (D) to bring up the keyboard and begin typing.

Step 3. Type your Text.

You can now type the text you need into the box (up to a 280 character limit per scene) and carriage returns will start a new line. Once you have finished typing you can move to another scene using the arrows in the top right (E). To exit from the typing screen tap on the tick (F) and you will return to a full-screen view of your story so you can preview the captioning.

When a scene contains a caption, a CC icon will appear on the scene thumbnail (G).

To edit or delete a note, select the scene, tap closed captioning (H) in the left toolbar and click on the text (I) to edit it. Just delete it all if you want to remove it.
